Vibrant Images
N340P features Canon's exclusive LIDE technology to create superior quality 300 x 600 dpi colour scans. And whether you're scanning photos to e-mail or to put in a business document, 42-bit colour input ensures faithful colour reproduction and great-looking results. Operation is both user-friendly and exceptionally quiet. Plus its sleek, stylish design also makes the N340P a perfect partner for computers running Windows 95/98, Windows NT 4.0, or Windows 2000 Professional.
Getting started is remarkably easy
To set up the CanoScan N640P, simply plug it directly into your computer's parallel port. Or, if you are already using the parallel port to connect a printer to your PC, the scanner can be hooked up as the middle link between the two. After that, you only need to use the quick-and-easy CanoScan Setup Utility to install the included software and you're ready to make your first scan.
A wide variety of user-friendly software
The CanonScan N640P comes with a full package of bundled software so that you can get the most out of the scanner. CanoCraft CS-P, for example, is a user-friendly control software that acts as both a TWAIN driver and a standalone program. With it, you can make various pre-scan settings such as selecting the scan area and adjusting resolution up to 9600dpi. The ScanGear Toolbox is another handy program which lets you select, with a mouse-click, the final destination of your scan: printer, e-mail program, fax or others. In addition, the CanoScan software package includes ArcSoft PhotoStudio 2000 for photo-editing and Caere OmniPage Pro for converting scanned documents into editable text data.
